Kenneth L. Baum has more than 30 years of experience serving clients in the areas of bankruptcy, financial restructuring, creditors’ rights, commercial litigation, and helping companies and individuals solve their financial problems through strategic alternatives. He has represented many individuals and companies in a wide spectrum of industries. Ken joined Cole Schotz, one of New Jersey’s largest law firms, with a leading national bankruptcy and financial restructuring practice, in 1997, and was named partner in 2001. While practicing at Cole Schotz, Ken played a vital role in many notable bankruptcies, both on the debtor and creditor side. In 2016, Ken established his own practice, Law Offices of Kenneth L. Baum, to focus exclusively on bankruptcy and related issues for individuals and small businesses.

Ken’s clients in bankruptcy matters include debtors, secured creditors, trustees, creditors’ committees, landlords, asset purchasers, and defendants in avoidance actions. His expertise in insolvency law also includes non-bankruptcy solutions, such as workouts, UCC Article 9 sales, assignments for the benefit of creditors, and orderly liquidations. Additionally, he has extensive experience in litigating complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts, including receivership actions, commercial foreclosures, and minority shareholder oppression actions.
